What Reflectly does well
Reflectly, published by Kodeon, Inc., is an AI-prompted daily journal and mood tracker based on positive psychology and CBT. Instead of a blank page, it asks you personalised questions, then tracks your mood with graphs and weekly and monthly overviews. It also has a habit tracker, morning quotes and challenges, and a widget. It’s on iPhone, iPad and Android; the iPhone app was last updated in September 2026 and the Android app in March 2026. It suits people who want a simple, guided way to write a little each day.
- Simple guided prompts. Reflectly asks you personalised questions, so you never have to face a blank page.
- Mood check-ins with graphs, plus weekly and monthly overviews, so you can spot patterns over time.
- A clean, simple design, and a free version that reviewers describe as good.
- Small extras for the start of the day: morning quotes and challenges, a habit tracker and a widget.
- Popular and well rated: 4.6 stars from about 82,000 ratings on the US App Store, and 4.2 stars with 1M+ downloads on Google Play.
How Otti is different
- A pet to look after. You hatch one of six 3D otters, each with its own look and personality, and care for it tamagotchi-style: you feed it, tuck it in for naps, give it bubble baths and play. Reflectly has no pet or character.
- Tiny steps, not writing. You choose a small daily plan from 16 tiny steps, like drinking a glass of water, brushing your teeth or messaging someone. After 3 steps in a day, a clam present opens with a little treasure.
- A story to grow into. Care days move your otter from pup to grown-up and down the river through six chapters, with an evening story to unlock on days you take care of yourself.
- A simpler mood journal that stays on your phone: a daily check-in with five moods, a note and a week view.
- Friends if you want them. In the Raft, friends’ otters hold paws, and you can send cheers and small gifts. There’s no chat and no public profiles.
- Otti does less as a journal: no prompts or guided questions, no AI, no custom habits, no charts beyond the week view and no iPad app. If you want to be asked thoughtful questions each day, Reflectly does that and Otti doesn’t.
Pricing
Reflectly is free to use, and Reflectly Premium is its paid upgrade. Reflectly’s website doesn’t list prices, and the US App Store shows Premium prices from $4.99 to $59.99 without saying which are monthly or yearly. We couldn’t confirm how long the free trial lasts or whether there’s a lifetime plan.
Otti is in beta and free to try. Pebbles, the currency for outfits and treats, are only earned through self-care and can’t be bought. We’ll share full pricing before launch.
Missing a day
Reflectly’s App Store description says its widget helps keep your streak alive, so it does count streaks. We couldn’t find anything official about what happens when a streak breaks. There’s no pet or character to be affected by a missed day.
In Otti, your otter can get hungry, sleepy or a bit messy if you’ve been away, but it never gets sick, never dies and is always happy to see you. Its growth and story progress never reset. There is a simple day count, but nothing is taken away when it restarts.
